Mimi Stillman, “A magically gifted flutist, a breath of fresh air” (The Washington Post), is one of the most highly regarded flutists in the concert world today. A Yamaha Performing Artist, she is founder and Artistic Director of the Dolce Suono Chamber Music Concert Series in Philadelphia. She has performed as soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Hilton Head Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica Carlos Chávez, Bach Collegium Stuttgart, recitals and chamber music at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia Museum of Art, for La Jolla Chamber Music Society, Verbier Festival, and others. At 12, she was the youngest wind player ever admitted to the Curtis Institute of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree studying with Julius Baker and Jeffrey Khaner. At seventeen, she was the youngest wind player ever to win the Young Concert Artists International Auditions. On her CD “MIMI”, Ms. Stillman recorded her book of arrangements of Debussy's songs, Nuits d'Étoiles: 8 Early Songs (Theodore Presser). She has also recorded for the EMI, Albany, and DTR labels. She teaches masterclasses at universities and flute societies. She holds an MA in history from the University of Pennsylvania and is a published author on music and history. www.mimistillman.org
Charles Abramovic is widely acclaimed for his international performances as soloist, chamber musician, and collaborator with leading musicians. As a recitalist he has performed throughout the United States and Europe. He made his orchestral debut at the age of fourteen with the Pittsburgh Symphony. He has appeared as soloist with the Baltimore Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, and Colorado Symphony and has performed in North America, Europe, and Asia with artists such as Midori, Viktoria Mullova, and Sarah Chang. Mr. Abramovic is professor of keyboard studies at Temple University. He is a distinguished composer as well as interpreter of new music. He has been commissioned by the Dolce Suono Chamber Music Concert Series and Philadelphia Chamber Music Society to write a trio for the Dolce Suono Trio, in which he plays with Mimi Stillman, flute and Yumi Kendall, cello, for premiere during the 2009-10 season. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, Peabody Conservatory, and Temple University.
